Introduction

Altran AG is developing the next generation electronic, software controlled injector device with the purpose of providing automatic subcutaneous injection of liquids. The development is supported by a HIL, custom drive test-bed including a precision force generator enabling to develop and test the injection procedure. Two types of controllers are currently being used: PID cascaded position / velocity controller and an advanced controller with load observer and built in load compensator. The test-bed is documented with a user manual, installation and start-up instructions as well as subsystem information.

Project tasks

The objective of this semester work is to:

  • 1. Understand and bring the existing system up and running
  • 2. Define and implement 3 test cases with 3 load-force profiles
  • 3. Test, compare and evaluate the performance of the 2 currently used controllers
  • 4. Optimise controllers with respect to performance
