NomadZ finish third in the RoboCup German Open 2017 Challenge Shield | |
Abstract: The RoboCup team NomadZ, a collaboration between the Automatic Control Laboratory and the Computer Vision Laboratory, took third place at the RoboCup German Open 2017 Challenge Shield in the Standard Platform League. After a rough start to the group phase, the team managed to qualify for the semifinal after an intense penalty shootout against the Goethe University Frankfurt Bemblebots (https://youtu.be/_4aw4dx0JkA?t=1m0s). The newly-gained motivation was used to make several tactical improvements, but unfortunately the NomadZ lost their subsequent match against the formidable University of Luxembourg United. The team made several further modifications to perform better in the third-place game, which in the end paid off with a victory against the Hamburg University of Technology HULKs (https://youtu.be/6Rme5YvVQ74?t=5m15s), and a third place finish in the Challenge Shield. Next up for the team is RoboCup 2017 in Nagoya, Japan. |
