Abstract: Prof. Pablo Parrilo is Finalist for the Tucker Prize of the Mathematical Programming Society Pablo Parrilo was selected one of three finalist for the Tucker Prize presented every three years by the Mathematical Programming Society for an outstanding paper authored by a student. His paper on "Semidefinite programming relaxations for semialgebraic methods" was cited as a bridge between convex optimization and real algebraic geometry, which opens up a new and promising research area.
